BUG is a night-time companion light. BUG only turns on in the dark, the user can turn BUG on by putting BUG in a dark area. When BUG is on, the user can touch the silver strip along BUG’s back and switch BUG’s light between 3 colors (red, green, and blue). The spots on BUG creates a fun polka-dot pattern along the wall when the lights are on. BUG will also give you a confirming “chirp” when you switch the colors. BUG will turn off when the lights are on. Hopefully, BUG will be a fun night-light solution to those who are sensitive to the dark.
BUG’s shell is created via 3D Printing. BUG uses Arduino to function and can operate on 9V batteries. BUG utilizes photo-resistor antennae and a touch sensor made out of aluminum foil tape and wire.
