PROCESS DOCUMENTATION:
ARGUMENT ver. 2.0 is an algorithm made in Processing that generates visuals based on sonic data.
- A Sound file is imported into the algorithm.
- Every 100 m., amplitude and frequency data is sampled from the sound file.
- The data is then mapped backwards to create an anti-frequency and anti-amplitude.
- The resulting dataset of frequency, amplitude, anti-frequency and anti-amplitude is used to determine the color, radius and position of a circle or square based around a generational point.
- There are eight generational points in total, resulting in a symmetrical image.
- For the purpose of this investigation, the algorithm is run twice, visually interpreting two sound compositions themed around each of the biological sexes.
- Both of the resulting processes are screen recorded and composed together for display purposes.
